Guri NCD Master Plan
Guri, South Korea

The Guri NCD (Nature Culture Design) Master Planning project envisions a new waterfront for the City of Guri and the revitalization of an industrial area to a green zone of nearly 3 million square meters.
Composed of several “villages,” the master plan seeks to link culture, design, nature, history, entertainment, education and living by combining commercial and residential areas with theaters, a design
center, mixed use towers, a university, exhibit halls, a historic museum and a theme park. These components are connected by a riverfront esplanade and parks linking the City of Guri and the NCD.
A tapered iconic tower becomes a landmark for Guri on the Han River. The comma-shaped, sloped building at the tower base forms a key element of the project, the design and merchandising market center.
A transportation center provides a link between the planned regional monorail system and the proposed local people mover system.
